The Hand of a Friend

I felt your presence in my palm today;
As I held the hand of a friend.
Like the trickle of a leaky faucet;
Your Spirit taps on my heart in warm embrace.

I saw your presence in my eyes today;
As I held the hand of a friend.
Like the morning mist enveloping the landscape;
Your Spirit lingers in the far reaches of my mind.

I envisioned your presence in my inner-most today;
As I held the hand of a friend.
Like the blood that flowed from your blameless body;
Your Spirit flows through my veins to my soul.

I fell in Love with your presence again today;
As I held the hand of a friend.
Like the very first time I had fallen for you;
Your Spirit has etched in me a forever smile.

I thank You Lord for “The Hand of a Friend.

A birthday poem for a friend (Ashley Bryant). Her hand in mine during prayer on Sunday reminded me of the touch of someone dear to my wife and I. It was as if her Megan’s(Our daughter who died on 15Apr01 in a car crash) hands were in ours again; but at the same time, it reminded us of how blessed we are to be in Love with Jesus and how His Love has brought us to know new family and friends! Thank You Jesus!
